မွေးကတည်းက မိတဆိုးဖြစ်ခဲ့ရရှာတဲ့ Thérèse (Elizabeth Olsen) လေးဟာ ဖခင်ရဲ့ ထပ်စွန့်ပစ်ခြင်းကိုလည်း ခံရပြီး အဒေါ်ဖြစ်သူရဲ့ အိမ်မှာပဲ ကြီးပြင်းလာရပါတယ်။ အရွယ်ရောက်လာကြတော့ အဒေါ်ရဲ့ သားဖြစ်သူ Camille (Tom Felton) နဲ့ Thérèse ကို အဒေါ်ဖြစ်သူဟာ လက်ဆက်ပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမဲ့ ၁၅၀၀ ချစ်ခြင်းတရားမရှိတဲ့ အိမ်ထောင်ရေးမှာ Thérèse တစ်ယောက်မပျော်မွေ့ပါဘူး။ ဒီလိုနဲ့ မိသားစုလိုက် ပဲရစ္စမှာ အခြေချဖို့ ဖြစ်လာရပြီး ပဲရစ္စမှာ Camille ဟာ တစ်ညမှာ သူငယ်ချင်းဖြစ်သူ Laurent (Oscar Isaac) ကို အိမ်ကို ဖိတ်ခေါ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။လူဆိုရင် သွေးသားဆန္ဒနဲ့ ရမ္မက် မကင်းကြသူချည်းမို့ မွေးကတည်းက သွေးသားဆန္ဒကို ထိန်းချုပ်ခဲ့ရတဲ့ Thérèse တစ်ယောက်ဟာ Laurent နဲ့ ကျူးလွန်ခဲ့ကြပါတော့တယ်။ သောက်လေသောက်လေ ငတ်မပြေ ဖြစ်တဲ့ ရမ္မက်ပင်လယ်ကြီးထဲမှာ Thérèse နဲ့ Laurent တို့ ကူးခတ်ကြရင်း မဖြစ်သင့်တာတွေ ဖြစ်ပျက်လာကြပြီး အခြေအနေတွေဟာ တဖြည်းဖြည်းနဲ့ အရုပ်ဆိုးအကျည်းတန်လာပါတော့တယ်။
